As part of our commitment to an informed and educated population the Stone County Library maintains public Internet access.  Our participation in statewide programs makes a variety of interesting and informative sites available to our patrons.

You can also access our card catalog over the web.  Here you can look at your Library record and see what you have checked out and when they are due.  You can also browse our catalog and place holds from your home computer.  To view your record and place holds you must have a valid Stone County Library card.

Patrons using the Library's Internet computers are requested to register before using the service but it is not necessary to reserve time.  Internet users are free to search the web and the staff is willing to help you get started.

Computers are available to library patrons for educational and informational uses only.

There is a one hour time limit for each user.  If others need access to the computers you must yield at the end of your time.

The following computer activities are prohibited:

Chat Rooms including AOL Instant Messenger.

Downloading of files from any source.

Saving to disks not purchased from the Library.

    Game playing.

Children under the age of 10 must have parental supervision while using the computer.

The Library has provided a printer for those using the Internet.  There is a charge of 20 cents per page for printed items.  You must pay for everything you print whether or not you intended to print it.  Please ask the Library staff for help.

The Library reserves the right to suspend usage privileges for those who violate these rules.
