The Stone County Library uses an automated
circulation system. You must have a library card in order to check out
materials. This card will also allow you to view your library records at
home, request materials from home and renew items over the phone. It is
also your key to using the Library's computers to access the Internet.
Library cards are available free of charge to residents of Stone County.
Because we no longer have reciprocal borrowing agreements we can not offer
borrowing privileges to non-residents. The Library Board does require
proof of residency to obtain a library card. This proof may be any one of
the following items:
 | A valid Missouri drivers license with a Stone
county address. |
 | A current Stone County property tax receipt or
certificate of non-assessment. |
 | A valid Stone County voter's registration
card. |
 | A current utility bill showing your name and
address. |
A parent or guardian is required to sign the
registration forms for those under the age of sixteen. This parent or
guardian must meet the eligibility requirements and be a registered borrower.
LOAN PERIODS
Our loan period is two weeks, except for
bookmobile patrons when materials are due on the next visit. Patrons may
renew items one time either in person or by phone. The renewal period is
one full extension of the original loan period. New and high demand
materials may not be renewed. Patrons renewing by telephone may use the
Library's toll free number 888-711-3100 and are asked to please have their
borrowers card handy. The Board of Trustees has set limits on the total
materials loaned to a patron. These limits are:
 | 20 books |
 | 2 videos |
 | 4 magazines |
 | 4 audio books |
The maximum number of items loaned on a card at
any one time is 30.
OVERDUE FINES
The Library does charge for over due
materials. The current fine rate is 10 cents per day. Patrons with
unpaid overdue fines in excess of one dollar are subject to suspension of their
borrowing privileges until fines are paid.
If you have questions call us toll free at 1-888-711-3100.
