Join our dynamic library team as a Library Cataloger, where your expertise will play a vital role in organizing and maintaining our extensive collection of resources. Duties

  • Maintains cataloging certification requirements through Missouri Evergreen
  • Performs original and copy cataloging for library materials in all formats into the integrated library System, Evergreen.
  • Physically processes all material for insertion onto library shelves.
  • Monitors supplies and does regular supply orders.
  • Prioritizes work load so that all material is processed in a timely manner with newer material receiving priority.
  • Stands as the cataloging representative for Stone County to Evergreen and keeps abreast of any changes or training offered by the consortium.
  • Orders materials for the adult collection
  • Shelves, straightens, and dusts assigned sections
  • Works shifts at circulation desk, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of databases, online resource management, and integrated library systems (ILS)
  • Excellent writing skills for clear documentation and record keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other productivity software for data entry and reporting tasks
  • Experience with alphabetic filing, numerical filing, and records management techniques
  • Familiarity with Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system and archives organization methods
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical proficiency in software troubleshooting, database searching, and research methodologies
  • Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with team members and assisting library users effectively
  • Ability to handle data collection accurately while maintaining high levels of productivity and attention to detail
